Typically, for the detection of MIR- or THz radiation very sophisticated measuring techniques are used. The patent pending detector from MIOPAS is based on a novel piezoelectric measuring principle, which allows a MIR and THz detction without peltier or liquid nitrogen cooling. The areas of application of this detector are in the optical spectroscopy and in the transmission measurement of MIR and THz radiation.
